Seniesa Estrada became the first undisputed champion in the strawweight division in women's boxing history after defeating Yokasta Valle by unanimous decision Friday night in Glendale, Arizona.

Estrada (26-0, 9 KOs), a two-division champion, entered the ring as the WBA and WBC titleholder. Valle (30-3, 9 KOs) brought the IBF and WBO belts. At the end, after a back-and-forth fight, Estrada won by scorecards of 97-93, 97-93 and 97-93.

"It's something I've been wanting for a long time, becoming undisputed," Estrada said after the fight about the accomplishment. "It finally happened, and I accomplished my dreams. I'm beyond overwhelmed and happy.

"I'm very competitive, and I want to be the best. In this training camp, there were days where it was difficult for me to go to the gym. My body was hurting. My back was hurting. My hand was hurting. But I pushed through because that's what champions do and because I want to be great."

Valle, who suffered a cut over her right eye in the first round due to an accidental headbutt and had to fight the rest of the bout with blood dripping over her eye, let her disappointment show after the decision was read.

"I did feel [the headbutt] was intentional," Valle said. "I felt that she did that coming towards me in the first round, and I had to struggle through that for the last nine rounds."

The fight was close enough for both fighters to keep their No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the division.

Rankings will be updated every Tuesday. They'll be based on recent bouts, head-to-head competition and the quality of opponent. As with almost everything, until fighters square off against one another, there is a layer of subjectivity to it. Fighters who haven't fought in 18 months and don't have a fight scheduled will be removed from the rankings until they fight again.
